Shopping at famous commercial street -Zhongshan Lu before flight to Hong Kong | One of the main reasons that
both locals and tourists visit Laoshan is because of
two specific temples located in the mountain. In one temple resides a
female god that is said to send a wife from heaven for any man that kneels
before the alter and prays for one. The other temple contains the same
general concepts except that instead of a female deity this one contains
a male god that caters only for hopeful females wishing to seek a husbands.
As a side note a person's presance is not nessicarly required in order
to pray for a future mate. Many hopeful mothers have been known to secretly
visit the female god in hopes of finding the perfact daughter-in-law for
her son Many gamblers visit Laoshan for the famous tree located in the mountain. It's said that three pats of the tree's trunk will bring instant luck for those seeking money Another popular tourist area is a pond located near the very center of the mountain. It's said that if a person is able to place a paper dollar in the water and have it float on the surface of the water the owner of the money will be blessed with good luck. |

Xi'an
is the cradle of ancient Chinese civilization, it was the capital
of China for eleven dynasties,with more than 1100 years capital history,
is one out of four big civilized ancient capitals in the world.
Xi'an ancient city wall -The
old City Wall is perhaps the best preserved urban defense system of ancient
times in China, built on the foundations of the walls of the Tang Dynasty
(618-907). The wall was built on an earth foundation formed of layer upon
layer of earth and quick lime and glutinous rice extracts tempered together.
Great Wild Goose Pagoda ,The five storey pagoda locates in the Thanksgiving Temple (ancient royal temple) and was built in 648AD during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It was built to house the Buddhist scriptures that were brought back by XuanZang, a famous monk. The Forest of Steles, founded in 1090 A.D, houses over 2300 steles of the Han ,Wei ,Sui, Tang ,Song ,Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, collects the ancient times tablet stone , it was one centralized place which the Chinese ancient book carved. As tablet stones like forest, therefore called the stele forest. |

The
Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses (Qin dynasty, 221-206 B.C.) is
acclaimed as the Eighth Wonder of the World. In 221 B.C., Emperor Qin Shi
Huang of the Qin dynasty established the first centralized feudal dynasty
in China. Upon ascending the throne at the age of 13 (in 246 BC), had work
begun on his mausoleum. The tomb took 39 years and 700,000 workers to reach
completion. The Terracotta Warriors represent only a small portion of the eight thousand strong underground army buried in front of the Emperor Qinshihuang's tomb to defend him in the afterlife. This army of more than 6,000 life size terracotta warriors with horses lined up facing east and ready for battle, If you close your eyes and listen, you can hear the soldiers breathing, the horses snorting and pawing the ground with their hooves, the generals barking out orders and the wind blowing through the valley. Hua-Qing warm water springs, are situated near the road to the tombs complex of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi. were used as leisure resort by the royal families and Emperors. |

of martial rts - the Shaolin temple and the oldest buddhist temple- the

The Shaolin temple - The origin of martial arts, was established during the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534). Emperor Xiaowen was a believer of Buddhism and he decided to build the temple to house Batuo - an Indian monk, who translated many Buddhist works and had a few hundred followers there. Damo (Bodhidharma), the legendary Indian monk, came to Shaolin in 517, who was the creator of Chinese Zen. There are many legendary stories about him. One of the well-known stories says he was meditating in a cave for nine years. The cave is now called Damo Cave. The 13 Shaolin monks once saved Li Shimin, the emperor of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and the temple become the famous home of Kung Fu (wushi). There are 232 pagodas from different dynasties, known as the forest of pagodas. The pagodas are the tombs of the celebrated Shaolin monks. The Baima Temple is one of oldest Buddhist Temple in China. Legend has it that white horses carried the first scriptures from India to this spot in 68 AD, hence the name (meaning White Horse Temple), it was regarded as the "cradle of Chinese Buddhism" by the Buddhist disciples. |

The Longmen Grottoes, together with the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang (Gansu Province) and the Yungang Grottoes (Shanxi Province), are the three greatest stone sculpture treasure houses in China The Longmen grottoes contain

carving of the grottoes started in the Northern Wei Dynasty (365-534)
and the work, continued for 400 years, into the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
There are 1,952 grottoes, 750 niches, more than 40 pagodas and over 100,000
Buddha statues of various sizes. The works entirely devoted to the Buddhist
